Green Island Resort at Aghios Nikolaos is a welcoming holiday resort which can also be used for other functions such as weddings, celebrations, parties, film location, etc. Spreading on a land area of approximately 10 acres which includes an orchard, an olive grove, and two vineyards, it produces its own organic wine, olive oil, and the well-known raki spirit.

The resort consists of two units, each with a traditionally built stone house sleeping up to 12 people. Both units are designed for the utmost comfort and practicality. The rooms have windows with a view either on the bay of Lavrio, the island of Makronissos and Cape Sounio or on the surrounding countryside. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning and flat-screen TV. The facilities include a swimming pool with a pool bar, beautiful sitting areas under pergolas, two stone barbecues, and a car park for 100 cars. The grounds and facilities can accommodate up to 800 people.

Location and access
Kea is easy to access from central Athens. The 60km drive from the town centre to Lavrio takes approximately one hour, depending on traffic conditions. There are two alternatives: the seaside route along the Athens-Sounio motorway, or through the Attiki Odos toll road and the Attica midlands. The International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos is 38 km from Lavrio, that is, half an hour by car. There is a regular ferry connection between Lavrio and Kea. The boat trip lasts 1 hour.

The property is on the north-west side of the island, 5km from the port of Korissia, and it takes 12 minutes to reach by car. You take the road from Korissia to Ioulida and after 2,5km you take a right turn towards Flea Spring. Then you follow the signs to Aghios Nikolaos, Nychi. It is also 12 minutes by car from Ioulida. 

As the chapel of Aghios Nikolaos lies right next to the property, the resort is an ideal location for wedding receptions, christenings, and other social events.
The whole of the property is fenced on the boundary.

THE PROPERTY COMPLEX
The property stretches over 10 acres on a gently sloping hillside. It comprises two buildings, two private independent swimming pools with pool bars, outdoor bathrooms, a winery, two vineyards and an orchard. The chapel of St Nicholas is right next to the property, and is connected to it through a church gate. Special care has been taken to create a multi-purpose space which is functional while staying in tune with the landscape.

The lower house (Villa ATHENA ‘AΘΗΝΑ’) is adjacent to a one-hundred year old room, the so-called steghathi, one of the oldest stone constructions of the island. The room, which has 1-metre thick stone walls and a traditional fireplace, has been fully renovated and converted into one of the bedrooms. It has a separate roofed entrance. The ground floor of the main house has two en-suite bedrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, a dining room, a sitting room and an extra bathroom, all rooms with stone floors. The first floor has two en-suite bedrooms and leads to a three-level balcony with far-reaching views on the hilly countryside. All bedrooms and the living room have 40” satellite TVs and WiFi access.

The front porch is lined by tall palm trees and offers nice views on a fir/pine tree garden. At the side of the building there is a wide terrace with sitting and barbecue facilities, beautiful plants and flowers, and a veranda with great views.

Attached to the terrace, at a slightly lower level, is the swimming pool, which has been designed to follow the curves of the adjacent rock. The door leading to the pool can be locked for safety reasons. Around the pool are olive trees, while local herbs growing on the rock delight the visitors’ senses. There is a wooden veranda and a roofed pool bar, equipped with a sink and fridge.
