Sleeps four. Situated on the first floor, Apartment consists of a large bedroom with a double bed and an extra single bed, a spacious living room with comfortable iron sofa-bed with an other single bed on demand and two armchairs, a kitchen and a bathroom.

Access is via the rear terrace, use of which is shared with a neighbouring apartment. The living room has a "pietra serena" stone fireplace and a round walnut table. In the bedroom are three windows with views onto two sides of the villa.

The kitchen has a marble sink, a four-burner gas cooker, oven, sideboard, table and refrigerator. The bathroom is fitted with a shower cubicle and a washing machine. There is an individual gas heating.

At Il Maggese the breakfast room is in the old building where, only 50 years ago, farmers squeezed the juice from grapes and stowed the wine-making gear.

The hall is near the pool and is called "universal room" for The Last Judgement -giudizio universale in Italian- that appears on a print on the wall.

Breakfast is served upon guests' request in the common room from 8.30 to 10.30.

We spent four wonderful days in Patrizia's beautiful Cortona home. It was the perfect setting after 3 busy days in Rome. Her home is called "Il Maggese," which means "the fallow," as when a field is left fallow for a season of rest. We found this a beautiful place of rest for body and soul. Patrizia welcomed us warmly and showed us our apartment in her 100-plus year old home just a few miles from Cortona. The apartment had a small balcony, a kitchen, a lovely sitting area and a spacious bedroom that was very comfortable and felt like home. But we got so much more than a room; we also got a beautiful setting with olive trees and grapevines and paths to walk up into the hills for some amazing views. Patrizia gave us wonderful advice about the area. She also prepared delicious breakfasts (great variety for a small additional charge). She was always available to answer any questions we had about the area and made us reservations at a local restaurant that served incredible food and wine. (Be sure to taste the wine and olive oil that Patrizia makes, too!) We enjoyed staying here and especially enjoyed talking with Patrizia each morning. We hope to return to Italy again in the near future and would love to stay with Patrizia again. Thank you for a beautiful time in your beautiful home! Ciao!!

GREAT - Our stay with Flavia was fantastic! the location was breathtakingly beautiful! This is really a place where you can relax in the beautiful surroundings full of (olive) trees. The house was super clean and beautiful in a real Italian atmosphere. Flavia also makes her own vin santo & olive oil which we could taste and we certainly brought a bottle back home! We really loved it here and I recommend it to everyone!
