Beautiful shepherds hut powered by solar for an off grid experience along the Wild Atlantic Way situated on Connemara farm land located 20 minutes from Galway city and 10 minutes from Oughterard and Lough Corrib. Sleeps 3 with a double bed and a single bed. Kitchenette with running water and gas hob, separate fire pit/BBQ area and outhouse with toilet, sink and heated shower. There is a small wood burning stove in the Shepherds hut with kindling provided. Towels and bedding are also provided.

Location

Our Shepard’s hut is tucked in between Moycullen and Oughterard so within 5 minutes of local amenities and 20 minutes from Galway city. There are wonderful restaurants locally and organic fruit and veg shop, farmers market every Friday in Moycullen to bring back to the shepherds hut to cook on the BBQ! There is plenty to do and see in the area

We stayed at the Hazelwood Hideaway for 2 nights, it is the most magical, beautiful place. It’s so peaceful but also close enough to the city for a day trip. Stunning place with lovely views. I could not have been happier with Carmel as a host. So friendly and just a lovely person. We will definitely be back again.

Our stay was great. the place is very comfortable and very well decorated. The place was like a fairy house in the middle of woods. Both Carmel and cohost Aiveen were very responsive and helpfull during our stay. We did not have any issues with finding the place and staying. I wish we had more time and stayed longer but definitely we will visit Hazelwood Hideaway again.

Absolutely loved this place!! It’s beautifully designed and decorated. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable to stay in. The location is peaceful and makes for a nice break away in nature. The outside fire was a real treat in the evening time. There was also a stove inside, which kept us warm at night. Carmel was so welcoming to us and thought of all possible details (over and above what’s expected) to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. I def recommend this place. I stay in hotels a lot for work but I actually found it a lot more fun and enjoyable to stay here!

Carmel was a brilliant host, super communicative and gave some great tips for things to do. Our frenchie loved it too We loved our time in Hazelwood and will definitely be back again.

The hut is absolutely amazing!! Very cozy, clean and just the perfect hideout. We were in contact with Carmel shortly bevore our arrival and she was so nice to pick us up at the main street and show us the way to the hut. When we arrived everything was prepared for us. The fire was already on and everything else was ready to us. She showed us around and was just absolutely brilliant to deal with. In the text messages bevore she was already a very kind and nice person but in real life even more so. Absolutely amazing stay in the hut and we can not wait to go back! Can only recommend this place. 15 out of 10 stars for this
