On the top of the village lies "Pera Horio", a small area with only 10 residences, where the houses are built. Joy and Dion, are two stonebuilt houses, patiently restored with respect by its owner, who, being an artist born in Sitia, turned them into contemporary holiday houses that contain all modern amenities. Maintaining every architectural detail of the past, each house consists of two cozy bedrooms (2 double bedrooms for Joy), two bathrooms and a living area with fireplace. Within the bathrooms, stonebuilt arches and pieces of rock are revealed. Each house has its unique style with various antiques and art pieces inspired by traditional and rural Cretan households. Most windows reveal panoramic views of the surrounding mountains of Sitia. Privacy is tucked within the inner courtyards, which lend the houses a vintage charm. Both houses are located within 13 km from the North and 15 km from the South shore of Crete, where beaches such as Kouremenos, Vai, Erimoupoli, Xerocampos, Hiona, Diaskari, etc exist.
