Located in Eastern Algarve, south of Portugal, Casas do Palheiro Velho provide the best of all worlds. They are on a small hill between small farms and orchards, just a few minutes from several beaches and coastal towns, and Spain.
The historical town of Castro Marim, its castle, fortress and 2000-hectare natural park is just 5 minutes away. Castro Marim has great military heritage, an impressive military fortress, and a castle that belonged to the Templar Knights, and then to the Order of Christ. It hosts an annual medieval festival.

Not far from there, you can discover a very little known place in Algarve - Alcoutim, and its archaeological heritage (Arab remains, Roman reservoir, paleolithic, castle), gazing serenely towards Sanlucar del Guadiana.
Its typical villages such as Odeleite and Azinhal, and trails will delight hiking and nature lovers.
Near the coast, Santa Rita, a nice village with a small church, and Paleolithic heritage.
On Cacela Velha coast, a kind of crown jewel in Algarve - a quiet isolated beach on a small island surrounded by Ria Formosa Natural Park.
Easy access to golf courses and sports facilities in Algarve and Spain.
