Nestling in the heart of the countryside barely five kilometres to the east of Biella, lies the Castle of Montecavallo, a little jewel of neo-gothic architecture. 

In the last few years it has been transformed into a haven of hospitality and old world charm with an excellent restaurant. The estate, which has been the site of wine production since time immemorial, is now open to those who want to enjoy a holiday with many facets, whether it be a simple walk in the delightful woodlands that surround the castle, or a more challenging mountain trek in the nearby Alps. 

Within easy distance are the important mountain pilgrimage sites like Oropa, which is the largest sanctuary dedicated to the Madonna in the whole Alpine Region. There are also many and varied sporting activities available in the area like mountain biking, horseback riding, rafting, skiing, canoeing, golf and many more. Then there is the opportunity for some serious shopping in the luxury fashion shops and outlets attached to the factories, like Ermenegildo Zegna, Piacenza and Loro Piana.

For culture and history the magnificent historic centres, museums and art galleries of Turin, Milan, Vercelli and Valle d'Aosta are all within easy reach. In the building below the tower of the castle are two charming, guest rooms, each equipped with all modern comforts and furnished with care and attention to detail.
